Kenya was a former male of Pride B at Longleat Safari Park. He was the eldest son of ruling male Mafui and was born sometime in 1998.
He was particulary close to his younger brother Lucani due to their similar ages, and was half brother to Yendi, Luna and Kumali. As he matured he clashed frequently with his father, and in 2003, at the age of five, he and Lucani were moved to Knowsley Safari Park where they became leaders of a new pride.
At some point, Lucani was put down after trying to scale the enclosure's electric fences, leaving Kenya the sole ruler of the pride. He has since fathered many cubs.
